When it comes to creating fine jewellery, two fundamental approaches are adopted: casting and handcrafting. Both have their own philosophy, approach, and a unique expression of beauty.
Casting: Precision Through Moulds
Casting begins with a very precise CAD (computer-aided design) model of your jewellery piece. From that, a mould is made, into which molten metal is poured gently. Once the metal has cooled and hardened, the piece is then finished by hand by a skilled goldsmith.
This technique is ideal for complex designs; dainty cluster pendants, detailed custom wedding rings, or repeating elements requiring precision. It's an efficient method, achieving consistency and detail.
While casting is commonly used in larger-scale production, it can sometimes lack the uniqueness and individuality that comes from pieces made entirely by hand.
